Creative chat!

Prof introduced to us a different approach in learning. That is using chat as a way to share our vision and at the same time experience chat as a tool for learning.Today we were required to chat on 'how I want my future classroom to be'. We were supposed to think from a technological perspective. It was fun because all of us came out with many creative ideas to make the classroom a perfect one. An air-conditioned classroom, should have internet access, toilets in classroom, each pupils has a computer....and many more! But the question is, will all the ideas come to reality. Well, it is possible if everyone work for it and give full support as they are aware of the miracles of technology. But, in my personal opinion, future teachers should not only focus on technology but give some importance for the non-technological tools or the traditional methods such as flaash cards, authentic materials, classroom games and so on because they are more real and remain in the pupils' mind! So, teachers should form a balance in both technology and non-technology items....

Fish Philosophy! Ops WHats' THat?

Be There, Play, Make Their Day and Choose Your Attitude! These are the 4 main practices in the FISH PHILOSOPHY! FISH! is a continuous journey with good sense that everyone can adopt. It is an invitation that enables people to care about each other and their commitments to the world. It is a practice and a skill that progress over time creating a positive atmosphere for an individual’s workplace and develop a vibrant and energetic culture too.

So... these are some knowledge that i knew about fish philosophy. Our prof did her best in explaining this philosophy to us. She brought in fishes to class and started throwing them to us and asked us to do so..We were stunned and shocked at first. But, then, we realised that it is to do with this Fish Philosophy. Interesting Start i was thinking.. It is applicable for primary kids too because it tends to provide motivation and encouragement to them..So, why don't we try iT??

Final Polish on Notebook Project!

The presentations of our Notebook project moved well. Comments were given by our prof as well as all the tutors. I would say it supported me alot and I take this opportunity to thank those helping hands. I have gone through my piece of work many times and edited my work till it reach my satisfaction. As for now, my project is almost done. Since I just read Ms Ng's post in moodle, i am planning to find out whether my work contains all her requirements. If it's not, definitely i will not hesitate to modify it again since I am in love with this Notebook Software. Seriously, it has given me confidence to teach the kids in future. I can't deny it's benefits!Excellent! In my personal opinion, if each school has atleast one piece of smartboard it would be great and pupils would enjoy it. It tends to keep them progressing in their work too. So, back to my project, well, we going to submit the project in a few days time. I still have some time to do something about it.

2nd approach in Notebook

This week my entire time was spent for the completion of my smart board project. I am so relieved and happy to say that i have done my work with satisfaction. I have worked hard on the assignment by collecting activities, editing them according to my selected target group and modify them to by integrating cretive elements such as animations. The website on 'heathersanimations' really gave a big hand to me in making my project colourful and attractive. My activities developed for Year 5 pupils and i seriously feel that it will be very useful for them to explore on 'prepositions'. By attempting this notebook project of mine, children will be able to acquire and understand all the rules and ideas of prepositions because i have used some pictures too to teach preposition. This is because, i always have the belief that visual learning is very effective. Add to the point, pupils will be automatically attracted to pictures in nature. Moreover, i have also inserted the element making a gradual flow for all my activities so that pupils will be able to do them from easy to diificult. This enhances their motivation to attempt the activities well and at the same time give them confidence. NNext week, we are to choose the best from our group and present our project to the class and our lecturers will be commenting on it. Hope what i have done is appropriate to the context

notebook

The process of planning and collecting details and information for my Notebook project is done. Now it is the time for me to decide on what activity to be chosen to suit the level of proficiency of the pupils. Some requirements are given to us and we are to satisfy all of them. As for now, a few activities have been done but I'm still not very sure whether those activities have the flow or not.So, the editing process is going on time to time. Since this software has a wide scope, we can easily add animations, create shapes,colours with gradient effects and so on. It is very interesting to create activities which are beneficial as well as eye-catching. Another one week to climb up...So, i m very busy manipulating and creating activities right no since the very first file of my Notebook project got corrupted all in a sudden. So, i am trying very hard and putting alot of efforts to make this project a succcess!

Wow, half more to go!

I am trying my level best to explore the smart board software. Wow, it really great.Suprisingly, so so so much of things embedded in it. The magic pen,images, designs, and alot more. I think if schools are provided with smart board facilities of course, students can benefit alot from it. Teachers and students will be more likely in a comfortable and relaxed zone during the teaching and learning process using smart board.At the same time, it is very seful and meaningful too. Well, the smart board project given to us, is obviosly interesting as well as fun. I am seriosly enjoying my journey into this project. As for now, i have done half and another half to fight with. The topic of mine is "prepositions". I have went into the topic in depth. Iv prepared alot of activities for upper primary level pupils. By approaching these activities, i am sure, pupils will have a wider insight on prepositions. It will be very useful for them. CAN'T wait to teach those kids with this smart board!

video reflection and upcoming project! :-)

Prof Maznah and all 78 of us reflected on the video project. It was fun since we got the chance to express the sweet and sour moments we went through in the project.We had a very casual talk among each other sharing our ideas on how to make the video project more meaningful and useful in future. Then, we discovered what were the soft skills used and experienced by us during the entire project when Prof Maznah discussed about it. I was glad that i am able to acquire most of the skills such as cooperation, determination, motivation and etc. Then, another interesting event was added into my diary, the 3rd assignment! Its totally on how to use smartboard notebook to explore on a teaching topic. It sound very enjoying! We were to stick into the same group and start exploring and thank god we were able to divide our jobs and decide on which topic each to be taken. All of us without heart feelings gave green light to each other! And whats next ? Of course, got to prepare and start putting our thought on how to make it a success, rite?
